About the youth cycling coalition (YCC)
The YCC is dedicated to ensuring millions of kids across the U.S. can access the countless physical, mental, and social benefits of bicycling and continue riding into adulthood. By fostering collaboration, professional growth, and shared resources among youth cycling leaders nationwide, we strengthen our collective impact and accelerate progress toward a brighter future for the next generation of riders.

Uniting organizations nationwide to take collective action, ensuring every child can access, experience, and develop a lifelong love of bicycling. Through partnerships and advocacy efforts, we embed bicycling into the fabric of communities across the country.
origin story
In 2019, leaders from several youth cycling programs united around a common goal: to strengthen youth cycling across the United States. They envisioned a bold experiment by bringing multiple programs into a single community to test how a unified and collaborative approach could inspire young people to ride more and build a lasting culture of cycling.

The YCC is made up of 15+ leading cycling organizations, each with distinct, yet compatible, efforts to expand access to bicycling experiences.
Free Bikes 4 Kidz
Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing bicycles to children who otherwise could not afford one, opening doors to healthier lifestyles, stronger social connections, and improved access to education.
Little Bellas
Little Bellas brings together girls ages 7 and older with female mentors to use mountain biking as a vehicle to teach the importance of teamwork, goal-setting, and fostering a healthy lifestyle.
National Interscholastic Cycling Association
The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) is a youth development organization using mountain biking as a tool to build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through cycling.
PeopleForBikes
PeopleForBikes is making biking better for everyone by bringing together millions of individuals, thousands of businesses and community leaders, and hundreds of elected officials to create a powerful, united voice for bicycling and its benefits.
Project Bike Tech
Project Bike Tech (PBT) is a two-year accredited program for high school juniors and seniors that utilizes lab classrooms supplied with tools, bikes, and curriculum to foster life-long engagement with the bicycle.
Safe Routes Partnership
The Safe Routes Partnership is a national nonprofit organization working to advance safe walking and rolling to and from schools and in everyday life, improving the health and well-being of people of all races, income levels, and abilities, and building healthy, thriving communities for everyone.
The League of American Bicyclists
Through education, advocacy, and promotion, The League of American Bicyclists works to celebrate and preserve the freedom cycling brings to all communities throughout the U.S.
Trips for Kids
Trips for Kids serves youth ages 7-17 by using the bicycle as a tool to offer hands-on learning and creative problem-solving and teamwork while nurturing a lifelong connection to healthy movement and the outdoors.
USA BMX Foundation
The USA BMX Foundation’s trademarked curriculum is designed for 4th-8th grade students, offering hands-on learning experiences that integrate STEAM concepts with the excitement of BMX.
USA Cycling
USA Cycling is committed to creating accessible, inclusive opportunities for young riders to discover the sport of bicycling and develop their skills.
Outride
Founded in 2014, Outride works to empower all people to experience the social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of cycling.
IMBA
The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) creates, enhances, and protects great places to ride mountain bikes.
Wish for Wheels
Wish for Wheels is a nonprofit that gives new bikes/helmets to second grade students in Title I schools throughout the United States.
Bike Bus World
Bike Bus World is on a mission to transform the well-being of children, communities, and the climate through biking together to school.
Major Taylor Kidz
Major Taylor Kidz is a national youth development program based in Georgia, serving young riders across all 50 states.
